Brooke Finnerty is an ambitious multimedia creative and works in lifestyle, fashion, music, and event industries, based in Brooklyn, New York. She has a strong skill set in writing, photography, social media, PR, and production. After earning her bachelor’s degree in journalism and media from the University of Texas at Austin, she’s driven by her passion of storytelling, enhancing brands through editorial copy and visual content, and connecting with others digitally and at events.
She has gained valuable skills through her studio photography, digital storytelling, lifestyle writing, and music journalism courses where she delivered unique stories and compelling photos. Brooke led on the executive board for University Fashion Group, UT Austin’s official fashion organization, where she served as the Website Editor (2025), Website Director (2024) and Creative Director (2023). Through her hard work and curiosity, she taught herself WordPress and re-branded the organization’s website to intersect its editorial and sophisticated aesthetic. From writing fashion blogs, creating assets, to publishing articles online, Brooke led a team of three writers at weekly meetings. She created graphics and reels for social content while conducting promotional campaigns for merchandise and their annual fashion show. During shows, she captured runway photography and gathered media for the brand (see more of this during New York Fashion Week below.) Additionally, Brooke spent two seasons as a digital marketing intern for Maggie Villamaria Studio. She planned content through a calendar and executed product campaigns from creative concept, styling, photography, and model direction. These assets were pushed out on the website and Instagram, from professional shots to content creation, resulting in ten sold out products and a 40% increase in engagement over 7 months. Additionally, she wrote blogs driving sales to product links, highlighting members of the team, and amplifying the brand’s voice. Brooke spent a semester on the social media staff for The Daily Texan Newspaper where she mastered daily deadlines to produce 50+ compelling captions in a journalistic tone, leading clicks to the full story. Currently, Brooke serves as a media assistant to Heather Green, founder of Celebrity Style Guide on Instagram. Brooke researches fashion trends, is up to date on celebrity fashion and culture, responds to clients’ style id’s and assists in producing weekly content to an audience of 230,000.
Brooke values her four seasons at New York Fashion Week where she’s contributed to the success of several runway shows and found her love for events. She worked with Eyesight Fashion and Luxury for the Victor Glemaud S/S 23 show and spent three seasons with Global Fashion Collective as a production and media intern. She worked alongside Lisa Ju and Stussy Daniels, handling looks, coordinating model lineups, and ensuring smooth run of shows. She captured live content for Instagram, both behind-the-scenes and during shows, bringing their authentic process and polished collection to an online audience. For the BabyTheStarsShineBright show, Brooke livestreamed the event to their social following of 190,000. She assisted in curating their catwalk design and elevating guest experience while organizing the RSVP list and preparing the front-of-house. Following Brooke’s last NYFW event with The Modern Day Wife as a fashion show assistant, she joined their team as a PR and communications intern. Brooke writes effective media pitches, creates graphics, organizes the run of shows, handles contracts, and delivers influencer/brand outreach. She’s secured reoccuring partnerships with Modern Luxury Magazine and Pixi Beauty. For their bi-annual magazine Brooke manages assets and administrative tasks, ensuring all advertisements, photos, and copy are ready to publish.
Brooke joined SouthBySouthWest as a Music Festival volunteer where she managed guest experience across 20+ venues in downtown Austin while reporting on the event. She gathered industry insights from conference speakers including LVMH, Rare Beauty, and Dibs Beauty brands. Brooke is drawn to bringing her media skills to an event setting where she writes reviews, features, and event stories for fashion, music, and just about anything happening in the city! This led her to contributing to the KVRX radio station blog with music stories. She values forward communication and team bonding and has worked as a sales associate at Anthropologie where she assists in personal styling and customer experience. She also spent two years as a control specialist for the UT Facility Service Center where she communicated with various teams to satisfy customer needs and ensure the preparation of over 40+ events on campus including Longhorn City Limits and Travis Scott’s panel.
Brooke is eager to gain greater industry experience by collaborating with other creatives and immersing herself in a full-time role following her graduation in the summer. Brooke puts in 110% effort in any task, is a team player, and is ready to tell your story, elevate your brand, and produce successful events. She’s open to full-time, contract, and contributing roles.
